TASTE THE JOYS OF cooking.
This webquest is designed to assist parents in instructing their kids to make a traditional dish in Tet Holiday, Vietnamese Fried Spring Rolls (Cha gio/ Nem ran), which are loved by the whole family for its delicious and distinctive taste.
Unlike the normal parents-mimicked activities, this webquest opens opportunities for your kids explore themselves every single step in making the dish, from choosing, buying to preparing and cooking the ingredients with the assistance of parents or brothers/sisters as well as all the resources and tips found on the webquest. Moreover, kids are encouraged to make critical thinking, and comparison in choosing and buying ingredients. They are also practiced their carefulness and the ability of organization – doing processing works. |
This webquest aimed at kids from 5 years old who have had an interest in cooking and have got the support from parents. However, everyone with the look for food and cooking can make use of this webquest for their own purposes.

Parents are considered as instructors, facilitators, and helpers for the kids during the cooking procedure.
Below are some dos ad don’ts |
- Now matter how delicious or terrible dish your kids cook, the crucial lesson here is that your kids can cook for the whole family. - With this webquest, your kids have had a chance to be a cook and to make the traditional and delicious fried spring rolls of Vietnam. - Throughout the procedure, they have learned to think carefully and make full preparation before cooking a dish, followed by an evaluation of your product. - Although there are some criteria for a good spring roll, the most significant one is your kids' feeling and emotions when cooking as it is believed that any dishes will be impacted by the cook’s moods. To make the best of this cooking course for kids, I do appreciate any comments, recommendations or feedback from parents or family member. |
